For domestic tastes: the field of the COOP-Rally was back in Debrecen – with video
Debrecen – The field of the COOP-Rally was in Debrecen. The store chain organized the event for the 16th time as a supporter of domestic food production and a distributor of quality Hungarian products. The competition has now visited manufacturers and distributors in Eastern Hungary, affecting – among others – factories in Cívisváros.
Together with its supplier partners, the COOP store chain wants to draw attention to the values of the Hungarian food industry and the need to maintain and strengthen domestic production with the rally. This was also highlighted by the previous pandemic period. The store chain is present in more than 2,200 settlements across the country.
– We are committed to Hungarian products and Hungarian producers, we help them reach the market in our stores. The rally basically starts with the aim of trying to focus on Hungarian quality in order to get to know consumers as much as possible about excellent quality – said István Rédei, board member of CO-OP Hungary Zrt.
The aim is to present modern and competitive food production based on traditions as widely as possible.
The rally field also visited the Debrecen plant of AVE Ásványvíz Kft., which has been producing since 2006, where more than 400,000 bottles of water roll off the conveyor every day. All this was achieved in two years, among other things, by setting up a new bottling plant worth HUF three billion.
– We can identify with the message of the event, which is the promotion of high quality produced by the Hungarian food industry among consumers – stressed Zsolt Meszesi, managing director of AVE Ásványvíz Kft.
Ákos Balázs welcomed the visitors to Debrecen on behalf of the city. The deputy mayor called the rally an excellent innovative idea, which also draws attention to the local economy.
The participants then drove their cars to the Alföldi Tej plant. The dominant company in the Hungarian market is best known for its Trappist cheese.
– We currently employ seven hundred workers in two plants. Last year, our annual sales were approximately HUF 55 billion. 98 percent of this is sold in the Hungarian domestic market – said Csaba Hang, commercial and marketing director of Alföldi Tej Kft.
The two-day professional program of the 16th rally focused on the manufacturers and distributors of Eastern Hungary, introducing the participants to their products.
