The Stop graffiti program tries to keep Prague 6 free of unwanted spray creations. Over 2,000 property owners showed interest in it
Monuments, playgrounds or benches – these are all places that attract sprayers all over the metropolis. For example, in Prague 6 vandalized locations have been slightly increasing recently. Graffiti mainly from the facades of houses, the newest special company. Homeowners themselves can contact her directly. One of the places where unsightly drawings often reappear is the building of the Polyclinic Pod Marjánkou in Břevnov.
“This is the stuff that’s supposed to remove that bond, that varnish. It’s a gel so that it doesn’t melt, but flows,” describes Tomáš Suk, a technician at a graffiti removal company.
“I’ll leave it on for a while, start my vap, rinse it off. And what’s left, I’ll either paint over again, or I’ll take a second chemical that adds another pigment. It also depends on the background.”
Tomáš Suk has been supporting graffiti for 15 years, a little over a year in this part of the metropolis. “Within Prague 6, we go around the list of houses and registered objects. Or the citizens themselves give us reports. In a month, it is even 400 square meters.”
