In De Pijp, local residents can exchange their parking permit for electric shared cars | Amsterdam
The project Electric Shared Ride De Pijp (EDdePijp) is an initiative of local residents in collaboration with the municipality. The intention is to make electric shared cars available to residents of the Hemony and Willibrordus neighbourhoods.
Other forms of electric shared driving must also be approached. ‘The aim is to make an important and affordable choice of shared cars and other forms of sustainable transport available,’ write the initiators.
The first shared spaces will be officially inaugurated on Wednesday. For every five parking permits handed in, four parking spaces will be parked. Local residents will decide for themselves how that extra space will be filled. ‘As a result, switching to shared transport really improves public space, without generating parking pressure’, according to EDdePijp.
You do not have to hand in a parking permit to participate in the use of the shared cars. Applies to the different shared cars different rates. It membership itself is currently still free, but EDdePijp expects it to cost a tenner per year from 2024.
