Russia and Kazakhstan
The Ministry of Defense of Russia and Kazakhstan are preparing joint exercises within the framework of the CSTO. President Vladimir Putin spoke about this at a meeting with Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, informs Kremlin website.
As noted, the President of Russia was timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the meeting of their relations between the countries, which will be celebrated in October.
“Our ministries and departments are actively working with us. The Intergovernmental Commission is actively working, the Ministry of Affairs, the Ministry of Defense are jointly proposing various events,” Putin said.
He also noted that Russia ranks first in the list of trade and economic partners of Kazakhstan.
“Commodity turnover is growing: last year it grew by 34.4%, this year, in the first five months of the average year, it has grown by almost 9, 8.8%. Investments from outside are growing,” the Russian president said.
June in Kazakhstan passed second staff dedicated to the preparation special exercises “Poisk-2022”, “Echelon-2022” and command and staff exercises “Interaction-2022”. All these activities are planned to be carried out at the Kazakh training ground Matybulak.
In addition to Russia and Kazakhstan, the CSTO (Collective Security Treaty Organization) includes Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
