“Journey to Vienna”: Libri nel Borgo Antico hosts the presentation of the new volume by Nicola Giuliani
The presentation of the new volume written by Nicola Giuliani as part of the thirteenth edition of the Libri nel Village Ancient. “Trip to Vienna. Giuliani tells Giuliani ”is the last biographical work on Mauro Giuliani, the famous proto-romantic composer and father of the classical guitar, born in Bisceglie in 1781.
The rich and presenter volume is published by the De Ferrari publishing house, based in Genoa, the birthplace of the great violinist Niccolò Paganini, who was a friend of Giuliani and who he and Rossini established in Rome in the 1820s what was defined the “Italian musical triumvirate”. Nicola Giuliani’s book recounts in a particular way the most significant decade from the artistic point of view and the most engaging one from the human point of view in the life of the guitarist from Bisceglie.
«The spirit that led me to write the book is the same that led me a few years ago to open the Giuliani House Museum in the historic center of Bisceglie. The objective remains, in fact, also through this particular form of presentation to the public, to broaden the knowledge of a great Italian, who drew his first artistic training in Puglia, in a wider environment than the audience of musicians “, explains Nicola Giuliani .
«The event organized for Libri nel Village Antico will be a real concert show in the presence of a virtuoso guitarist like Francesco Scelzo and with the voice of Giuseppe Stringaro and obviously the author of the book himself as a narrator. A new way to tell the extraordinary life of Mauro Giuliani, of whose art all the people of Bisceglie can be proud. I will never stop thanking Nicola Giuliani, Mauro’s biographer and descendant of the family, for his continuous research, study and dissemination “, declares Sergio Silvestris, president of the Association”Village Ancient”.
