Coronavirus in Prague: 2,050 cases per week
The rate of increase in the number of people infected with the coronavirus in Prague stagnated in the past week. In the last seven days, there were 2,050 new confirmed cases, which is roughly the same number as in the previous week, when there were 2,063 new infections. This is according to data on the website of the Ministry of Health. deaths of people with the number of covid-19 diseases delivered by the coronavirus, but fell in the past week. The daily number of newly confirmed cases of corona virus infection in Prague, as in the whole of the Czech Republic, began to rise this year at the turn of May and June. Then they increased in dozens of people, while in the last week of July they reached almost 700 infected per day. In August, the increase in the number of infected people began to slow down, and the daily number of new cases on weekdays reached values of around 350. On Thursday, August 18, there were even 280 new infections, which was the decrease in Prague on a weekday since the end of June.
even though the number of infected people in Prague has slowed down in previous weeks, the capital remains the region with the highest number of new cases per week in terms of population. The so-called incidence number, which is the number of cases of infection in the last seven days per 100,000 inhabitants, was 154 infected in Prague as of today. The lowest incidence number is in Vysočina, currently 93 cases.
Since the start of the covid-19 epidemic in March 2020, almost 535,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus infection have been recorded in Prague. 3,650 people have died with covid-19.
