Benefit game with Mick Schumacher and other stars
Prominent participation in the “Champions for Charity” benefit game: players who actually have nothing to do with football also get involved.
The benefit game “Champions for Charity” in Deutsche Bank Park will take place this year with the national football players Timo Werner and Florian Neuhaus. In addition to Werner (RB Leipzig) and Neuhaus (Borussia Mönchengladbach), Mats Hummels from Borussia Dortmund is also involved. Formula 1 driver Mick Schumacher and basketball superstar Dirk Nowitzki, who retired three years ago, will act as hosts for the “Champions for Charity” benefit game in the Frankfurt World Cup stadium in 2006.
Dirk Nowitzki does not expect miracles from his use in the benefit game. The 44-year-old from Würzburg told a press conference in Frankfurt am Main that he had practiced “blood slides” with his two sons at home. “Football was never my thing. I always stumbled over my own feet. I’m quite untalented as a footballer. That makes it all the more fun for me,” said Nowitzki.
