“Classic Vienna” among the notes of Emma Pestugia’s piano – Ancona Chronicles
OSIMO – The concert of the young pianist scheduled for August 19, as part of the Musical Meetings at the Cloister and in collaboration with the Accademia d’Arte Lirica
The piano in the capital of the Empire is the protagonist of the “Classical Vienna” concert, which features music by Beethoven, Haydn and Mendelssohn. On Friday 19 August, at 9.15 pm as part of the Musical Meetings at the Cloister, the Accademia d’Arte Lirica, in collaboration with Mecenates, brings the young pianist Emma Pestugia who returns to Osimo, where she had obtained a Special Prize at the 9th edition of the New Pianists Cup. Finalist at the 8th Ypn – Young Pianist of the North competition, and First Prize at the Grand Prize International Music Competition in Vienna, the artist proposes two groups of variations – Haydn’s Andante with variations in F minor and the Variations Serieuses op. 54 by Mendelssohn – framing one of Beethoven’s last sonatas – op.110 n.31 in A flat major. Haydn and Beethoven represent, with Mozart, the great authors of Viennese classicism. Mendelssohn – who was in Vienna in 1830, on the journey from Berlin to Italy and Spain – wrote his Variations as a contribution to the Beethoven monument in Bonn, the composer’s hometown.
Emma Pestugia began studying the piano with Lorella Ruffin, graduating with full marks at the Benedetto Marcello Conservatory in Venice. She has performed in solo recitals in Italy and abroad (Austria, Croatia, Poland, England and Norway) at the invitation of prestigious concert seasons. Her recording of Sofia Gubaidulina’s “Chaconne” was broadcast for Radio Classica and was defined by Luca Ciammarughi as «an incredible live of the highest piano quality and intellectual concentration». Single ticket 5 euros (info: Iat Office 800.228800, compulsory presale at the La Nuova Fenice Theater Box Office on the day of the show from 5pm to 9pm).
