Central Bohemian councilors approved the contract with Prague on the Prague – Kladno bicycle path
The trail is to partially use the abandoned railway body after the modernization of the line between the two cities.
Central Bohemian regional councilors this week discussed and recommended to the council approved the wording on cooperation between the Central Bohemian Region and the capital city of Prague on the “Kladenská Drážní cesta” project.
It is about the construction of a cycle path between Prague and Kladno, which is to partially use the abandoned railway body after the modernization of the line between the two cities. The project plan to build a “safe road for non-motorized traffic” was approved by the councilor at the end of last year, the contract will now go to the council.
“We, as the initiator of the project, undertake in the contract with Prague to financially and organizationally ensure the processing of the complete project preparation and subsequent execution of the building from our budget. The capital city’s obligations then consist of acquiring land on its territory and a financial share in project preparation and project implementation. Ultimately, Prague will also take over the section in its cadastral territory into ownership and management.” said Petr Borecký, Deputy Governor of Central Bohemia for the area of public transport.
The implementation of the construction will be linked to the modernization of the Prague Ruzyně – Kladno railway line, which recently received a zoning decision. The costs of the roughly 30-kilometer cycle path, which will run parallel to the track, are now estimated at roughly 470 million crowns.
The very construction of the modernized railway is described here.
