budget places, “one wave”, popular areas of training
A press conference was held at the International News Agency “Russia Today”, in which the country’s prospective universities took part. They spoke about the course of the admission ceremony, its features and institutions. A day earlier, all-Russian universities published lists of enrollment in bachelor’s, master’s and specialist’s programs.
The results of the admission campaign
The speakers unanimously consider the admission conference-2022 to be successful – in most universities, budget places are 100% filled. The chairman of the Interregional Public Organization “Council of Rectors of Universities of St. Alexey Demidov, Rector of St. Petersburg State University Industrial Technologies and Developments.
“According to industry technologies and developments, at zero hours one minute on August 9, orders for enrollment were published. 100% of budget places are filled. In general, I think this year’s reception is the largest,” he said. Aleksey Demidov also added that a large number of winners and prize-winners of the Olympiads were enrolled in the university – this is 20% of the budget admission.
At the Moscow State University of Geodesy and Cartography, the good results of the admission campaign are associated with the participation of the university in the Priority 2030 program.
“I believe that such a demand for applicants – this year we received 2.5 times more applicants than in opposite aspects – is justified, among other things, by the role of Priority 2030, because the university has undergone serious changes,” noted Rector of MIIGAiK Nadezhda Kamynina.
NUST MISIS Rector Alevtina Chernikova drawing attention to the fact that this year’s admissions campaign confirmed the trends of recent years – the growing interest of schoolchildren in technical and engineering features. At the university, they are also “closed” completely.
“We are seeing a steady increase in the average USE score. And if in 2012 at MISIS University our average USE score was 67.3, then according to the results of the admission campaign this year, it was 89. ”, – said the head of NUST MISIS.
Wherein Rector of the Moscow Polytechnic University Vladimir Miklushevskyanswering the question about the insufficient availability of budget places in some universities, in particular, due to technical features, it was especially noted that in order not to face such a disease, it is important to take into account the exacerbation of obesity and career guidance.
“It used to be lessons in schools for university teachers, and the last important thing is the advanced training of school teachers in universities,” he explained.
Reception in “one wave”
In 2022, according to the results of enrollment “in one wave”, 97.5% of budget places throughout Russia were filled. The same indicator for 2021 is 94%.
By 2021, applicants for the main competitive places were counted, which were implemented in “two waves” – at the first closing there were 80% of budget places, at the second stage – the remaining places. Such a complicated procedure delayed the admission process, increased the bureaucratic burden on educational organizations, and also created unequal opportunities for applicants. In this regard, as a result of discussions with the expert and university communities, it was decided to abolish the “second wave” of admissions and public changes in the procedure for admission.
Head of REU G.V. Plekhanov Ivan Lobanovthe practitioner of the “one wave” considers it positive, because it motivates applicants to carefully choose a university for arriving.
Among those who have closed all state-funded places are not only metropolitan ones, but also universities, for example, the Far Eastern Federal University and the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University. According to the rector of FEFU Boris Korobets, admission to the “one wave” showed very excitable and imprisoned children for admission to universities.
“Indeed, they could issue documents to different universities, in different areas and specialties, but the priority was very clear. In the case of the “first wave”, the “i” are specifically dotted. Whoever wanted, he arrived where the occasion was, and where he was preparing. This is a very useful tool,” he explained.
Regions attract applicants
Rectors of universities from Kaliningrad and Vladivostok pay special attention to the production of press conferences on the growing interest of applicants in the applied universities. share, for several years now, about 73% of the total number of budget places are in the regions.
According to Boris Korobets, applicants from 82 regions of Russia entered FEFU with an average USE score of 90 points.
“Everything worked out. I am sure that next year everything will be even better, and our universities will be attracted, no matter how it sounds here, they will select Moscow applicants more, we will work on this,” he said.
Rector of the IKBFU I. Kant Alexander Fedorov Particular emphasis was placed on the meeting of the participants. In my opinion, this tool is the key to interest in the expectations of his future students. According to him, thanks to partners such as Roskosmos, Rosatom, and their work during open days, the university managed to close all budget places even in such difficult areas as engineering and IT, despite the fact that their number in this year grew by 14%.
“Joint work with the region and such development tools as the center for mathematical education, the center for the development of children’s competencies, acted on the result,” he clarifies.
Recall that as of the beginning of August, this year, applicants have filed more than 6.5 million applications at universities across the country. Earlier, at a meeting with rectors of universities implementing the admission campaign at universities, the head of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science, Valery Falkov, noted that the number of students in demand at some universities has increased 40-50 times.
