Russia bans 62 Canadians from entering
Russia has banned 62 Canadian citizens from entering the country, including representatives of political forces, representatives of the church and courts, media workers, officials and representatives of the LGBT movement. About it reported on the website of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Catholic priest Raymond de Souza is not intended to enter Russia, Canadian Foreign Affairs spokesman Adrien Blanchard, director of economic strategy and planning Tyler Meredith, chairman and chief executive officer of the Canadian Radio, Television and Communications Ian Scott, head of the Canadian Armed Forces Intelligence Directorate Michael Wright, and Protestant pastor and LGBT activist Brent Hawks.
The department began to explain that such litigation is a response to the ruling that Canada introduced against Russia between June 27 and July 7. Then personal sanctions affected, among other things, the head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill.
“A note on the particularly hostile nature of the actions of the ruling regime of the Prime Minister [Канады Джастина] Trudeau, emissions with the aim of insulting not only the multinational and multi-confessional people of Russia, but also Orthodox believers all over the world, including Canada, when compiling the list of “closed people”, their malicious activity in the fight against the “Russian World” was taken into account and violations of value indicators were noted, – recognized by the Foreign Ministry.
On July 8, Canada introduced a resolution against several Russian citizens. Among them, by chance, was the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, Patriarch Kirill and many employees of the Russian state media. On August 2, the government of Canada added to the anti-Russian sanctions list, it included 43 individuals and 17 legal entities.
