Attractions, party, etc. – you can experience that today
800,000 visitors are expected at the world’s largest marksmen’s festival – for the first time with a woman as Bruchmeister. What’s on the agenda today?
It should be left out like before the pandemic: The 493rd edition of the traditional Schützenfest started in Hanover on Friday. On the ten-hectare Schützenplatz there are spectacular rides – such as an 85-metre-high free-fall tower – as well as three marquees and four event areas.
What are the program highlights on Thursday, July 7th?
On Thursday, three Ballermann stars will visit the Schützenfest: Tim Toupet (“Your hair is beautiful”), Markus Becker (“The Red Horse”) and Lorenz Büffel (“Johnny Däpp”) will be at the NP Rondell from 8 p.m.
In the “Alt Hannovera” the “pure party” starts: The Alt-Hannovera-DJs start at 7 p.m.
Crafts Day in the Bavaria Festival Hall. From 7 p.m. the focus is on the exchange about the arts, plus music by the “Grumis”. Then music by Dj Toddy.
In the new Marris beer garden, meanwhile, “Dick und Durstig” will be on stage from 7 p.m. and perform their swaying repertoire at their best.
Some influencers from the social media platforms YouTube and TikTok are scheduled at the NP Rondell from 3 p.m.
High-ranking visitors in the gay people tent: Pop star Peggy March (“You still have dreams at 17”) will be there from 8 p.m.
First Bruchmeisterin, Lüttje Lage and a gay people tent
The shooting tradition in Hanover goes back to the 15th century. For centuries, the Lord Mayor has appointed four Bruchmeisters before the festival. This year, for the first time, the prestigious honorary post will be held by a woman. Mayor Belit Onay (Greens) and Hanover’s rifle president Paul-Eric Stolle initiated this change together. 20-year-old Vanessa Smorra was unveiled as the first Bruch champion in May.
