The Dijon Academy has organized a more supervised recruitment of contract teachers
Further supervision in recruitment. And stronger support throughout the year. This is what the Dijon Academy has been offering since this year for contract workers. It already offered to recruit these non-tenured teachers via a partnership with Pôle Emploi, which pre-selected profiles who could apply for contract positions.
An information session was then organized for these people. But at the end of June, this process is accompanied by a meeting between these selected job seekers and a pair made up of a Pôle Emploi adviser and a local human resources adviser from National Education.
Not a job-dating, but “a pre-recruitment operation”
“It’s not a job dating, but a pre-recruitment operation”, underlines Éric Gien, deputy to the Academic Director of the National Education Services. Because the thirty-four people met will not all be requested in front of a class at the start of the school year.
Pierre N’Gahane, new rector of the Dijon Academy
The idea was to meet them for the first time to have a breeding ground during the year. Those who have been selected will now be received by the inspector of the subject for which their applicant (maths, English, etc.) and a person from the HR department of the Academy.
Training before taking up the position, tutoring by an experienced teacher…
Depending on the needs, they will be sent to a school, a college, a high school. And once in place, these contract workers will have more extensive follow-up this year: distance training before taking up their position via the new academic school for continuing education (EAFC), two days of reception in the establishment before taking up their position (for those starting on September 1), tutoring by an experienced teacher, two days of face-to-face training and distance learning modules in the subject taught, etc.
prime The harmonization of specialty teaching notes raises questions for baccalaureate correctors
One of the results of the Grenelle de l’Éducation. “They are not thrown in front of a class”, underlines Lawrence Guillaume, local HR adviser to the management of the departmental services of National Education of Nièvre. “The goal is to accompany them towards tenure”.
A majority of contract workers try the competition
According to Éric Gien, a majority of contract workers attempt the teacher’s competition after having practiced. Because they failed the competition the first time, or because they are in the process of retraining for the teaching profession.
If people are rewarded for becoming contract teachers, the Nièvre Academy Inspectorate invites them to consult the Academic Platform for the Recruitment of Contract Workers (Park), on the internet.
