Priority to socio-ecological transition

Sugar Mizzy July 4, 2022

The Metropolitan Council of Monday, July 4, 2022 places the socio-ecological transition at the heart of the metropolitan project.

The Metropolis is undertaking a series of strong measures for the territory: massive support for the new dental faculty, deployment of aid for the acquisition of specific bicycles (electric, folding, cargo, family), open to tenants of a LOVELO, 4-month extension of the reduction in the price of monthly public transport subscriptions and confirmation of the price freeze at the start of the school year in September, commitment to sustainable mobility for people in integration in partnership with the Rouen Normandie Solidarity Mobility Platform – SVP move’, reinforcement of aid within the framework of the ZFE-m and creation of an aid advance fund and microcredit system, experimentation with a new carpooling line between Barentin and Rouen, reinforcement of metropolitan policy in sporting matters… The Metropolis will also recognize 4 unusual accommodations on the territory and is committed to inter-municipal solidarity by supporting structuring projects carried by the cities.

For Nicolas MAYER-ROSSIGNOL, President of the Rouen Normandy Metropolis: “Crises are experienced but we respond to them with reactivity and solidarity. To cope with the shortage of dental supply on the territory, we massively support the establishment of the new faculty of odontology, in partnership with the University of Rouen. 1 million euros will be deployed by 2026 and the first students will be welcomed from the start of the 2022 academic year. For mobility and purchasing power, we are undertaking new strong actions: new aid for the acquisition of specific bicycles (electric , foldable, cargo, family), open to tenants of a LOVELO, extension of the reduction in the price of monthly public transport passes and freezing of prices at the start of the school year in September, commitment to sustainable mobility for people in integration in partnership with the ‘Rouen Normandie Solidarity Mobility Platform – SVP move’, reinforcement of aid within the framework of the ZFE-m and creation of an aid advance fund and the microcredit scheme, experimentation with a new line of carpooling between Barentin and Rouen… We will go so far as to finance the driver! We have supported the transition to environmentally friendly mobility, while protecting purchasing power, which is heavily impacted in the context. We are also entering into a cross-cutting partnership for inter-municipal cooperation with the Roumois Seine Community of Municipalities. We have defined our new metropolitan sports policy, so that it is more inclusive, more egalitarian and more radiant. Finally, we release substantial funding for useful and structuring projects carried out by many municipalities in the territory. On self beats. We don’t give up. »
