San Marino. Libera: “unstoppable collapse of basic medicine in our area”
“In the last two and a half years, the citizens of San Marino have been helpless due to an incredible collapse of the role of basic medicine in our territory and to a decline in health services with a continuous rebound of responsibility that is embarrassing to say the least”.
Thus writes Libera, who adds: “The First Secretary Ciavatta tried to discredit the Head of Primary Care, complete with agendas that knew of real distrust, then, however, for reasons of armchair, he preferred avoid disruptive actions and support the “Christian Democratic line”: let’s put the dust under the carpet and avoid facing critical issues.
Finally, last May 5, the announcement of the start of the COT, the territorial operations center, arrived, which however is obviously struggling to take off. In fact, there are continuous reports of delays even with the new switchboard and, it happens more and more often, that many patients have to go directly to the emergency room for exams, analyzes and skip any (long) wait. We must work immediately to get to have a general practitioner with the relative nurse for increasingly individual services, at home and linked to the interpersonal relationship and knowledge of the person. A quality service from those who know our community.
As Libera, we proposed to work for the figure of the doctor and family nurse in health centers by investing part of the resources of the foreign debt that we do not know where it was spent precisely. We asked to make agreements with neighboring universities to bring the degree in nursing closer or for agreements between San Marino and Italy for the recognition of career years and for social security purposes for health professionals.
Yes, because today more than ever, serving a point of reference for the patient with whom to relate directly, reducing the interminable waits at the switchboards.
This project must be put in place immediately, involving all the actors, doctors in the first place, finding the most appropriate and incentive economic methods, stopping to keep everything in plaster due to internal tension in the ISS. A serious political management would do this but for two and a half years now the incapacity and whining of the Secretary Ciavatta have prevailed over the quality of the service “.
