Fabien Romeyer (JDA Dijon sports director): “In people’s imagination, it has become normal for Dijon to be in the top 5 every season”
JDA Dijon sports director Fabien Romeyer has assigned himself to Basket Europe after the season ended. He takes stock of it and talks about European competitions, Nenad Markovic, the sporting and economic context of the JDA, the impact of ASVEL and Monaco on the championship and, of course, the transfer window.
What is your assessment of this season?
If we take the balance sheet in its finality, we lose against ASVEL, it’s a shame because we can’t avoid the sweep. We were able to count on an exceptional public but we came across a team that went into Euroleague mode. On the series, there is nothing to say, they largely deserved the qualification. If we take the whole season and look at “how” we got there, the season is very positive, with the means we have, to make the top 5 in the league , the course in the playoffs and in Europe. We fell into a pool with Ludwigsburg and Hapoel Holon who both go to the Final Four of the Basketball Champions League (BCL). So it’s been a very positive season in what we call the “how much” on happened but also in the commentary on got there. On one had difficulties at the start of the season.
