Highlights from the President’s speech:
- Russia’s position is natural in that a “democratic, more just world order” should be built on the basis of mutual convictions, universally recognized checks on international rights and the UN Charter.
- Modern international law is going through, the reason for this crisis is an attempt to replace it with “dictatorship” and “national jurisdiction of states”.
- “Some state is not ready to accept the loss of dominance on the world stage, to focus on an unfair unipolar model, <…> regulate regulation and guide global processes by implementation, pursue a policy of creating closed blocs and coalitions that make decisions that benefit only one country – the assembly of the masses of America.
- The principle of the indivisibility of security is currently “interpreted selectively”, while the Western commission is “illegitimate” and has been tested on an “unprecedented scale”.
- “Those countries that preach exclusivity, in their internal defense, go over the law, cross out such concepts as the inviolability of property and freedom of speech.”
- “In the multipolar world of the 21st century, there should be no place for inequality, cooperation between states and peoples.”
- Russia will strive to form a “more democratic and just world”, in order to achieve which there will be “the rights of all peoples and the preservation of the cultural and civilizational diversity of mankind.”
