ALL ANTWERP: “My husband died before he knew I was pregnant” (Antwerp)
Every weekday our reporter and photographer pick a casual passer-by off the street for a nice conversation. Want everyone has a story. And certainly in Antwerp. Today: Samantha Tambuyser (37)

“For four years the most important thing was to have a baby, nothing worked. Our desire to have children was great. The doctors encompassed me that I should have one removed. Luckily I didn’t because now I still got pregnant.”
“My husband passed away two months ago. He took his own life. We were Islamically married, and he could not get papers here in Belgium. He helps in a depression and couldn’t get out of it. My husband didn’t know I was pregnant. I only know three weeks and I am three months myself.”
“I’m looking forward to the baby, but it’s a mixed feeling for me and I’m a little scared. I have a feeling it’s going to be a boy. Maybe he will look like my husband. I try to distract myself and get outside a lot, that helps me. God gave me this baby as a present. Without this pregnancy I really didn’t know what to do. Now I have something to live for and look forward to.”
