Anfisa Chekhova explained why she returned to her homeland: “Russia is like a mother to me”
Anfisa Chekhova
Anfisa Chekhova returned to Russia from Bali, where she spent the last few months. According to the TV presenters, she was not going to run and renounce her homeland, which, like her parents, she “does not choose.”
Despite all the gossip about my emigration, I did not run away and did not renounce my homeland. <...> Am I a patriot? No. Because patriotism in our time is most often a feeling of superiority over other peoples and a firm conviction that my country and nationality are the best. And I’m not inclined to divide people and countries into good and bad! <...> We do not choose our place of birth, just like father and mother. And internally we always belong to our genes and traditions, as well as to the crew! But someone lives in the same house with the whole family, even if it’s a life like cats and dogs, and someone moves away from them, but keeps good homes!
No matter what we do, we have formed recommended parents! But this does not mean that, loving them, I will belittle and reject other people’s parents and look for a return in them! Likewise with the homeland. I like a lot in Russia, I don’t like a lot, and I appreciate everything she gave me. But I will never and never claim that my country is the best! Exactly as I will not allow her to be humiliated in front of me. So, I’m not a patriot, I was just born and raised in Russia and I love it on a deep level, regardless of politics and living conditions. Russia is like a mother to me. I can single out some special feelings about her, but at a very deep level, I am inseparable from her.
The TV presenter noted that she is not recovering for the opportunity to initially move to another country, but not because it is bad in Russia, but because she “experiences an irresistible need to change places.”
Anfisa Chekhova flew to Bali with her son Solomon after the start of a military special operation in Ukraine, which the star condemned on social networks.
