On Pentecost Monday, the engines will roar in Debrecen
Debrecen – Speedwolf Sportszervező Nonprofit Kft.
At May’s press conference, Deputy Mayor Lajos Barcsa put it this way: there has been a competition at the county seat that has not been seen for nine years, which is a huge result of sports diplomacy.
“The municipality made a good decision when it set out to develop slag motorsport in 2019,” the deputy mayor explained. He added that the priority is to bring prestigious competitions to Debrecen, to educate young people and to attract the audience to the stadium.
He is convinced that there is a demand for technical, in this case slag, sports in Eastern Hungary. As he said, the local government has supported the sport with a total of HUF 73 million since 2019, of which HUF 10 million this year.
Norbert Baráth, the managing director of Speedwolf Sportszervező Nonprofit Kft.
It took nine years to get the right to organize, and the competition, which will be the most prestigious event in the sport in Hungary, will also feature competitors who have already competed here.
The farthest motorcyclists will come from Australia, but Danes, Swedes, Latvians will come from Europe, the high-chance Poles, French, Czechs, as well as a Ukrainian, and Norbert Magosi will be the only Hungarian.
The executive also said the fight would start at 4pm on Monday, with the gates opening as early as 1pm. Tickets are purchased online, free for children under the age of 14, and adult ticket prices start at HUF 4,000. As a hobbyist, those interested can watch the training for free from 10.30 in the morning.
Péter Szabó, the managing director of Schaeffler-FAG Magyarország Ipari Kft., Emphasized that important social responsibility is needed to support sports, which is why they were behind the slag engine. They focus on technical sports as they have a factory profile close to that.
