Minister of Defense: “Any military article will come to the Republic of Moldova, will be used for defense, not for attacks”
The Minister of Defense, Anatolie Nosatâi, declared in the show “Secrets of Power”, from Jurnal TV, that the military aid that could come to the Republic of Moldova will be used for defense, not for attacks.
“Any military article would not come to the Republic of Moldova, it will be used for defense. Here I want to mention that the military doctrine of the Republic of Moldova is a defense doctrine and does not provide an offensive doctrine with any objective of conquering or invading anyone. I would not say that nothing is being done to negotiate with our partners or to discuss what we need. I want to mention that especially after 2014, the National Army went through a series of exercises to elaborate the long-term plan for the development of armed capabilities “, said Nosatâi.
The Minister also said that the current military equipment of the Republic of Moldova is outdated, and its place would be at a history museum.
“The level of equipment is clear from the level of financial insurance. Unfortunately, we are not doing well in this regard and this area needs to be addressed. Currently, the National Army is endowed with what it inherited from the Army of the Soviet Union. When we talk about technology, we must not imagine those technical units that were produced in the 60’s and 80’s. If we do a little calculation, the units would have a place somewhere in a museum of military history. At the same time, I want to mention that over the years I have benefited from the assistance of my partners and, first of all, I am referring to the USA, through a few programs a few dozen techniques, trucks and so on are obtained “, added Anatolie Nosatâi.
