The Rolling Stones’ European tour kicks off this Wednesday, June 1 in Madrid. The British rock band is launching a series of concerts called “Sixty” on the occasion of their 60th anniversary.
This tour will be without Charlie Watts, historic drummer of the formation who died last year. He will be replaced by Steve Jordan who has already played with the Stones during their American last fall.
In Lyon, the group agrees on July 19 at Groupama Stadium, then at the Paris-Longchamp racecourse on July 23 with 50,000 seats available each time.
A total of ten European countries will try the Stones in this which will take them to Amsterdam, Milan, Brussels, Vienna and Liverpool, among others, where they have not played for 50 years.
The year 2022 is loaded with symbols for the Rolling Stones, whose birth certificate is set by rock critics at July 1962, the date of their first joint stage in London. In addition to their 60th anniversary, the Rolling Stones will indeed celebrate the 50th anniversary of one of their emblematic albums, “Exile on Main Street”.
