The carrier has borrowed them for three months, then evaluates their benefits. “A blind spot is a term we all know from practice as car drivers. There are places that it is very difficult to see in the rearview mirror or with a direct view while driving. The tested device monitors precisely these angles and informs the driver of the possible danger of a collision with pedestrians, cyclists or motorcyclists. I am personally curious about the experience of our drivers with this device, “said Miloš Havránek, General Manager of the transport company.
Special cameras are installed at four locations on the bus. Two on the forehead and two on the back. “Artificial vision is developed to identify living objects in the field of view well in advance – pedestrians, cyclists and bikers. At the same time, it ignores inanimate things, “said Hana Tomaštíková, a spokeswoman for the transport company.

At the risk of a collision between the driver’s system and a colored light signal. The yellow light indicates that there is a person in some of the dead zones and her to act with caution. “If a person is directly in the collision path and there is a danger, the driver’s red warning light comes on and an audible signal sounds,” Tomaštíková explained.
In addition to risky situations, the device also evaluates other parameters, such as driving dynamics, ie whether the driver does not accelerate unnecessarily and then brakes sharply. Another monitored behavior of the driver and the car is the deviation from the lane to another lane, which is often the cause of accidents in traffic. All data will be collected and used by the transport company’s employees, for example, in driver training.
The price of one such device is around one hundred thousand crowns. As part of its Brno campaign, the Brno company travels safely with DPMB, focusing in the year on activities related to safe mm. Collision camera testing is one of them.
