Russia has set quotas for the export of fertilizers – The Secret of the Firm
“The decision is aimed at eliminating the shortage of products in the domestic market and preventing the growth of food prices,” said on the website of the resolution of the Russian Federation.
On April 17, the export quota was increased to support domestic producers. On April 30, the authorities temporarily increased the export quotas of mineral fertilizer producers by 501,000 tons.
Earlier, German farmers warned of problems with the harvest due to the lack of mineral fertilizers, which the country used to buy in Russia and Belarus. In 2021, all European countries imported 13 million tons of this product, of which Germany – more than 4.6 million tons.
At the end of May, Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and French President Emmanuel Macron. The discussion focused on the situation in Ukraine, including “labor relations with food supplies,” the Kremlin press service said.
According to Putin, Russia is “ready for standard options for the unhindered export of grain” from black ports, as well as to increase the supply of fertilizers and agricultural products from Russia. However, this requires that the West cancel the conscription.
Also earlier, the Ministry of Agriculture proposed to ban the export of rice from Russia from July 1 to December 31, 2022. It is forbidden to use vehicles in the EAEU countries, humanitarian aid or transit traffic.
