Toulouse: the sequestration operation ends before the Assize Court
At the end of June 2019, a young woman was attacked at her home in Colomiers. The “visitors” were looking for money. These three boys have just been sentenced by the assize court for minors in Haute-Garonne.
Three individuals spent three days before the assize court for minors this week in Toulouse. These young men were 20, 18 and 17 years old when, on June 27, 2019, they landed in Colomiers in the apartment of a young woman. The trio, not really anchored in delinquency except the leader, found the money or the drugs there. The “leader” of this trio, an 18-year-old boy who had already been convicted several times despite his young age, believed that the young woman he had met during training was playing the role of nanny for a deal point of Colomiers.
The operation, at the end of the afternoon, quickly went wrong. The victim, unimpressed by the hood worn by the leader of the “commando” and by his dummy pellet gun, tried to resist. She was beaten with rifle butts and found herself tied to a chair. First with tape before being handcuffed in principle reserved for erotic games… And searches in the apartment did not reveal any money or drugs. The thieves just walked away with two pots where weed was growing.
Investigators from the departmental security criminal brigade quickly identified the perpetrators of this armed robbery. After denying it, the suspects eventually admitted their involvement. Recognition renewed before the Assize Court which examined this case behind closed doors due to the minority of an accused.
The victim, defended by Me Anaïs Chery, engaged in a criminal trial and she repeated before the jurors the trauma of this attack which pushed her to leave the Toulouse area to settle in the countryside. Defended by Mes Séverine Faine and Alice Patoureaux, the commando leader was sentenced to 7 years in prison. His two accomplices, supported by Mes Sarah Nabet-Claverie and Kamel Benamghar, were punished by 4 years including three years with probationary suspension and 3 years with probationary suspension.
