Wladimir Klitschko – Alexander Povetkin, shouting from Povetkin’s corner, Russia – Ukraine in boxing
“Kick the rooster!” Klitschko was dirtyly insulted, but the Ukrainian took him away from Russia
In 2013, the giant calmly dealt with Alexander Povetkin.
The famous Wladimir Klitschko continues to play with boxing fans, talking about his possible return. Seeing a Ukrainian legend in the ring is a dream of many fans. Of course, opponents of such a decision are also advancing. And it’s not even that Klitschko Jr. is already 46 years old. The Ukrainian simply considers him an apologist for “boring” boxing. One example was the fight between Klitschko and Alexander Povetkin.
The duel between Ukrainian and Russian was captured for several years in a row. Alexander and Vladimir were supposed to fight back in 2008, but then the Russian stumbled while jogging and injured his leg. In 2010, Povetkin fell ill before signing a contract, which did not stop Klitschko from taking a picture with a cardboard figure of an opponent. As a result, the boxers met only in 2013.
The fight was organized in Moscow: Vladimir Ryabinsky, who by that time had become Povetkin’s promoter, bought the rights to return $ 23 million. The Klitschko side, which was supposed to receive 75% of this amount, was so surprised by the huge figure that they spoke of a full prepayment. But it turned out that Ryabinsky was right: 110 countries bought the rights to broadcast, and the Olimpiysky fans scored to the eyeballs.

Alas, the fight turned out to be not as interesting as expected. Klitschko has been “biking” for most of his fears, taking advantage of a noticeable advantage in height and arm structure. The beginning from the second round, Vladimir, happened on a set of points with a jab. As soon as Povetkin managed to break the distance, the Ukrainian immediately hung on him – the audience saw dozens of such clinches.
Although Klitschko’s tactics looked very boring, they still were – and worked. A guarantee of professional execution of the game plan, the implementation of which goes to the canvas. But Povetkin banally failed the duel, acting very limitedly. The boxer and his staff did not come up with anything interesting: Alexander did the same thing for all 12 rounds, although the effect was absolutely zero. There was no plan B for the meeting.
The spectacle was dull, to which were added some annoying problems with escalation. For example, throughout the entire time the viewers of the television broadcast were afraid, they heard distinct and loud screams: an unknown man tirelessly gave advice to Povetkin and insulted Klitschko. Sometimes the adviser even drowned out the commentator. According to most journalists, Alexander’s brother, Vladimir, was the screamer.
“Kick the rooster!”
“Put your hands off!”
“Sanya, rock it! Like this. Yet!”
“Don’t listen to the judge, hit!”

The shouting ended only after the final round. A tedious confident duel of achievement ended with a maximum victory for Klitschko. All the judges gave the Ukrainian a win with a score of 119-104. Most observations have remained unsatisfied observations. Unfortunately, the real battle of 2013 turned out to be a “puff”. He reacted negatively to literally everything, including sports stars.
Tyson Fury: I just pulled off the most enduring heavyweight title fight in boxing history! A couple of tough idiots were hugging each other.”

Dana White: “Klitschko took advantage of the disqualification, in the 12th round he did not land a single blow. And this is the heavyweight champion of the world! It’s a shame, a shame for the boxing world! And if this is your heavyweight champion, then that weight class is dead. Vladimir did not want to fight. He runs and paws the opponent. It’s disgusting … I can’t communicate that there was someone who paid him 17 million dollars. What the Klitschkos do is not boxing.”
