“Russia – Turkey”: Ulyanovsk conference presents regional experience – Ulyanovsk today
Issues related to sanctions pressure and import substitution, consideration of the Second Annual Investment Project “Russia-Turkey: New Challenges and Opportunities for Cooperation and Achievements”. Major events are organized by the Russian-Turkish Dialogue Association and the Russian-Turkish Working Group of the Russian Association of Industrial Enterprises and Entrepreneurs. The Ulyanovsk delegation is also working at the event: the experience of cooperation in the region with Turkey was presented by Deputy First Chairman of the Regional Commission Marina Alekseeva.
She confirmed that the foreign trade turnover of the Ulyanovsk region with real estate was only for a year.
— Turkey is one of the long-standing and important economic partners of the Ulyanovsk region. Our portfolio includes a large number of source documents,” said Marina Alekseeva. – Partnerships have been established with the Uludag Exporters Association, the Council for Foreign Economic Relations, the Confederation of Entrepreneurs and Industrialists, the Union of the Textile and Construction Industry of the Republic of Turkey. A Memorandum of Understanding on finances has been concluded with the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce.
Currently, the ministry has launched more than one major Turkish investment project. Since 2010, the AB InBev Efes brewery has been operating, in January 2016, mass production of Martur car seats was launched, with the participation of Turkish technologies, in 2018, the steel production project of the Russian company Pamir was implemented. Also on the territory of SEPZ “Ulyanovsk” thanks to an agreement with the Turkish authorities for the production of granite composite materials.
The total volume of investments of companies in the Ulyanovsk aggregate is more than 9 billion rubles. In addition, by chance, unexpected interactions, we have created 650 high-paying jobs.
In addition, cooperation has been established in the region between public businesses, foreign investors and Turkish construction companies LimakMarashstroy, StroyDevelopment, Renaissance Construction.
The participants of the plenary session highly appreciated the work of the region in terms of attracting and creating conditions for business development. In general, the Russian and Turkish sides show their readiness to build up constructive cooperation in all areas, including the expansion of trade, economic and investment cooperation.
