Summer holiday – Danker out of Oslo
Norwegians’ travel habits and dreams are about to change again. After two years of Norwegian holidays, more and more people want to spend their holidays abroad this summer.
Oslo, Bergen, Tromsø and Trondheim took the top four places on Norwegians’ travel search for the summer on Google last spring. Well, the list is clearly changed.
Most popular
The castle Castillo de Santa Bárbara and the old town El Barrio are two of the reasons why Alicante in Spain has taken over Oslo’s first place this summer.
While Tower Bridge and the Tower of London along with shopping opportunities and many other attractions have brought the British capital of London up to other places.
Now the holiday dream is shattered
But it is not just Europe that is tempting. Many are ready for the long trip to Thailand and to Bangkok, shows list, which has the city with nearly six million people in bronze place.

– This shows a significant difference in where Norwegians want to travel this year from last year. This is clearly different from last year, when Norwegians largely searched for inland destinations. But Norwegians have a heart for European destinations, and these take eight out of ten places on the list, says Sondre Ronander, communications manager at Google Norway to DinSide.
The airports in Norway are also experiencing the branding expansion of Norwegians’ desire to travel abroad.

Holiday chaos: This is what you can demand
The number of passengers traveling to and from abroad at Avinor airports rose in April from 65,180 passengers in 2021 to 1,315,930 in April 2022. This equates to an increase of 1,919 percent. If you compare the figures with 2019, there were 27 percent fewer passengers than in the last «normal year».

Traveling to neighbors
Norwegians are also interested in destinations in Sweden and Denmark.
In Sweden, travel to Stockholm, Gothenburg and Visby (Gotland) is at the top of the search. While Copenhagen, Billund with proximity to Legoland and Løveparken at the top in front of Aalborg.
For Norwegians who have not been ordered a new passport, travel in the Nordic countries can be a good solution, as the passport ordering shoes are record long and many have to do without going this summer.
Both Nordenferie and Norgesferie are a good alternative.
