The evening strong wind complicated the work of the airport in Ruzyně. Due to the safety of employees and passengers, it suspended operations in the area. In the meantime, the Prague fire brigade registered forty cases in the city in three quarters of an hour in connection with the weather.
“According to standard procedures, we must suspend activities in the area for the safety of employees and passengers. Passengers can thus wait for boarding and disembarking the aircraft, and then for their luggage. The expected resumption of operations is 22:10, “ the airport said on Twitter at half past nine in the evening. For three years, dispatchers had to divert to another airport.
The work of Prague firefighters gradually increased. Twenty minutes after nine, they reported ten cases, loose metal sheets and fallen trees, including the one that fell on the tram line in Chotkova Street. Fourteen minutes later it was thirty, another four forty.
“By 21:45, we have registered forty cases in connection with the storm. According to the radar of the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute, the storms are moving east.
