in the center “Russia – My History” children talk about the exploits of young Leningraders
A solemn event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the pioneers is held at the center “Russia – My History” on May 19.
As the chairman of the St. Petersburg branch of the Russian Peace Fund, Lyudmila Kostkina, told Petersburg Diary, the competition of vocations to revive the school museums of St.
“The topic of the exhibition and competition was raised last year by us – the Russian Peace Foundation, the center “Russia – My History”, he supported us very actively. We had a great desire to turn to the competition of school museums, there are 62 of them in our city. They try very hard, but funding is not always enough, and today, more than ever, patriotic education is very important. Everyone was invited to join,” said Lyudmila Kostkina.
A partnership agreement was concluded, the idea was supported by the Palace of Youth Creativity, the Production Committee, and the Peace Fund decided to encourage the best financial ones. As a result, it was decided not only to collect exhibits from school museums, but also to offer to create short, 3 to 10 minutes long videos based on the expositions of their museum on the history of the pioneer organization and children – pioneer heroes.
“Material was collected from our school museums on the history of the pioneer organization, our foundation coordinated the work, specialists from the Russia – My History center helped to create an exhibition. There are rare things there – for example, a pin for a pioneer tie, because many do not know that the tie was not originally tied. These things appear in St. Petersburg residents, blockaders, because not only large museums themselves need such exhibits, ”the organizers specified.
84 films entered the video materials contest, it was so difficult to choose the best that we decided to add prizes.
“There will be three first, three second and three third places, 18 distinguished laureates and diplomats. But this is not enough – the jury members proposed 18 more best ones to be rewarded. All awards and prizes. These are full excursions to places of military glory, as well as certificates in a computer equipment store. In addition, there will be 18 more cash prizes. The museum will create a catalog of the exhibition, which is kept in storage,” said Lyudmila Kostkina.
She says that such cooperation between museums, the school, the Peace Foundation and the support of Oleg Chernyaga, General Director of the Russia – My History Center, proved the ability to work together for a common goal.
“Such a topic as school museums should play a role in the education of young people in general. they want to have museums that children not only go to, but take part in their establishment, know and remember their history. After all, the pioneers were a great international and friendly country for millions of Soviet boys and girls, on the main oath “Honest Pioneer!” whole generations have grown up. The Siege of Leningrad is one of the most important topics in our history. 30,000 schoolchildren, including pioneers, were awarded the “Medal for the Defense of Leningrad,” said Lyudmila Kostkina.
Exhibition “Honest Pioneer!” acquaints visitors with the growing development of the pioneer movement, the culture and life of the Soviet pioneers, as well as public children’s associations. An interactive zone has been allocated for observation in the exposition, which can be reached as a result of a pioneer campaign: sit by an impromptu fire, join the games of pioneer childhood and watch rare newsreel footage. It is expected that it will last until the end of June.
