The mayor of Lyon on a trip to Italy for three days, here are the reasons
Grégory Doucet, mayor of Lyon. @WilliamPham
With several of his deputies, the mayor of Lyon Grégory Doucet is on a three-day trip to Italy to meet his municipal counterparts from the cities of Milan and Turin. In the program : “food, mobility, cultural policies or even prosperity and social inclusion“.
The European cooperation of the city of Lyon continues. After Brussels, then Leipzig, Grégory Doucet travels to Italy for three days to meet the mayors of Milan and Turin. The Lyon delegation, made up of Nathalie Perrin-Gilbert, deputy for culture, Sonia Zdorovtzoff, deputy for international solidarity and Gautier Chapuis, delegate for local food, wished and renewed the axes of cooperation which structure the relations of friendship between the twin towns. They will begin their journey in Milan before reaching Turin.
Culture, pedestrianization and sustainable food
The move of the cultural assistant is not trivial even though Lyon wants to continue to emancipate itself culturally on a European scale. On the agenda: discussions with Italian municipalities on “the influence of Lyon’s cultural actions in Italy, around the network of Unesco creative cities, on partnerships for major events in the City, such as the Festival of Lights, or on the support provided to performing arts, cinema or art contemporary”, details a press release.
We should also find all the major themes of the environmental executive: sustainable food, inclusive city, city at the height of children or even waste collection. But also all the issues of pedestrianization and areas with limited transport, in Italian cities”stands out particularly“. Themes that have become priorities for the environmentalist executive.
It should be noted that, just like Lyon, the two twin cities, Milan and Turin, are also part of the program of 100 neutral climate cities.
