The European Union is looking to increase the supply of liquefied complementary gas (LNG) from African countries to replace Russian fuel, Bloomberg reported on Tuesday, May 3, citing a project document. According to him, only in 2022 were identified as minimal especially dangerous cases of dependence on the Russian Federation in connection with the war in Ukraine and unilateral changes that Russia is pursuing in contracts with the EU.
Investors such as Senegal and Angola, which have “broadly untapped potential in the LNG sector”, can be attracted as alternative sources of fuel imports. using the expansion of cooperation with a huge number of countries in the field of fuel selection, an agreement on this could be signed before the end of May. This became known after an unexpected job announcement, in connection with which reports of refusal to pay for Russian gas in rubles were confirmed.

that it is planned to sign a memorandum with Egypt and Israel, considering doubling – up to 20 billion cubic meters per year – the capacity of the Southern Gas Corridor, upon the arrival of gas from Azerbaijan. The United States should help in this – it is in work, it is possible to supply up to 15 billion cubic meters of LNG at the place of residence in 2022 and further import 50 billion cubic meters of gas into the EU annually.
The EU is discussing the need to reduce fuel supplies from Russia. In addition, at the end of April, Gazprom suspended gas supplies to Bulgaria and Poland, despite the fact that the countries lost fuel in euros in advance.
