Weekend out of town, where to go: from Vienna to Dublin
With the arrival of summer and the end of the anti Covid restrictions, millions of Italians are ready to pick up your suitcases and leave. After two years of stopping and disappearing in travel, everything has reopened and we are back to savor that feeling of freedom. For those considering a weekend away, Ryanair recommends 10 cities not to be missed.
In the first place of the special ranking there is Vienna, the capital of Austria. Known as the “city of music”, Vienna is a truly special location where you can dedicate yourself to visiting majestic monuments such as the Belvedere Castle and the Cathedral of Santo Stefano. In third place we find Bordeaux, port city located on the banks of the Garonne River in southwestern France, known for its wine. A weekend of relaxation to discover markets, but also first-rate galleries and restaurants. Don’t forget to pass at the Place de la Bourse and at the Grand Theater of Bordeaux. Also Dublin worth a visit if you are planning a weekend. The “friendliest” city in Europe is famous all over the world for its colorful houses, but also for must-see museums such as the National Gallery, the National History Museum and Drury Street.
Seville, Amsterdam and Porto: three cities where to organize a city break
Ryanair’s ranking dedicated to cities not to be missed for a city break also mentioned Seville, the capital of the region of Andalusia known for flamenco. A truly unique location with its impressive Gothic cathedral and the marvelous Plaza de Espana. Then, there is Amsterdam, known for its artistic heritage, elaborate canal system and narrow houses with gabled facades. Do not miss the Van Gogh Museum, the Tulip Museum and for fans the Anne Frank house.
In Portugal, however, the town of is worth a visit Port whose historical center has been classified as Unesco heritage. An enchanting city that conquers from the first moment with its cobbled streets that revolve around the Ribeira district. Ryanair also recommends Glasgow, the port city located on the River Clyde in the Western Lowlands of Scotland. A destination famous for its Victorian and art nouveau architecture, but also for having become a Unesco city of music in 2008. Also in the standings Lyon, a French city in the historic region of the Rhône-Alpes, where it is possible to admire the Roman amphitheater of the Tre Gallie and the modern district of the Presqu’île.
