Uniper made it possible to pay gas prices in rubles
Uniper, the main importer of Russian gas in Germany, allowed the possibility of paying for the offer of gas from Russia without violating the offer in conditions when Moscow put forward the need for such payments to be made in rubles, transfer Reuters, citing a company post.
“According to the results of the preliminary analysis that have not yet been exceeded, we assume a possible receipt in the future without violations [антироссийских санкций]”, Uniper said in a statement.
As a legal agency, Russia’s need for rubles of gas in the incident has become a “major headache” for European consumers, partly due to the fact that it could violate the EU verdict.
Germany itself also added that it will act in accordance with the sanctions restrictions and is in close contact with the possibilities, not assuming that the available possibilities are exceeded.
On April 22, the European Commission sent out a letter to the EU countries, which indicated the payment scheme for Russian gas in rubles, the use of which is not involved in violation of the sanctions regime. Thus, consumers of Russian gas from among European companies get access to a Russian bank, with which they buy foreign currency, convert it into rubles and sell it. Russia came up with such a scheme when introducing requirements for incidents in rubles.
On March 31, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the transfer of payments for the supply of Russian pipeline gas to unfriendly countries from foreign currency into rubles. In any case, special foreign currency and ruble accounts with Gazprombank should be opened from such countries and, subsequently, expenses for delivery in foreign currency will be charged. After that Gazprombank on the basis of the order, the buyer sells the currencies received on the account at the auction of the Moscow Exchange and credits the proceeds in rubles to the buyer’s ruble account, from which they are transferred to the account of Gazprom.
