Czech villainy at the JWC in America. The giant Marcel dirtyly hit the Russian with a shameful score
At the tournament in 2021, our Czechs defeated 11:1, the opponent could only solve with rudeness.
At the Youth Ice Hockey World Championship in 2021, the Russian team had a bright group tournament. Useful guys got into a brilliant and successful comeback in a meeting with the Americans, then they themselves managed to give an obviously winning match to the Finns, after which they predictably smashed Germany 6:1.
“Russia plunged American women into a nightmare.” The heroic comeback of ours from 1:5 at the YJWCH in the USA
Crowned by a preliminary game with the Czechs – always a principled rival for Russia at any level. “People’s Team” had previously left both in Finland and the USA, but they still count on at least being tied to the favorites of the tournament.
However, no contradiction came close. Already in the first period, ours threw three goals into the nearest goal (Michkov, Poltapov and Miroshnichenko distinguished themselves), in the second segment of the beating of the future, Koromyslov, Katelevsky and the same Poltapov continued, but in the final twenty minutes, the Czech Republic finally collapsed.
Russia staged a real scoring extravaganza – 5:0 after 20 minutes! The double was made by Fedor Svechkov, Michkov also shipped two goals, thus forming a hat-trick. The final result is 11:1. Russia made fun of the Czechs to their heart’s content, scoring a major victory over this rival in YJWCH history. The mentor of the “people’s team” after the game could only recognize the strength of the “Red Machine”, and on Thursday the media called this devastating defeat “an explosion before the quarterfinals”.
“Explosion before the quarter-final”. Czech media answered at 1:11 in the match with Russia
However, the Czechs would not be Czechs if they humbly and meekly endured such a shame. The national team, always professing hard, tenacious, on the verge of a foul hockey, found a way to annoy the Russians.
In the role of the “instrument of retaliation” was a huge quarter forward Marcel Marcel. With a score of 1:8, the 110-kilogram striker carried out a dirty power hold against defender Vladislav Sapunov (weight – 73 kg), vilely hitting him in the back at the side. It was obvious that Marcel deliberately went Russian, wanting to somehow recoup for the shameful score on the scoreboard.
The judges offer a decision that issued a rough fine (5 + 20), so it is not clear who Marcel did better. After his removal, the Czechs missed three more times, and Sapunov, fortunately, got rid of a serious danger.
