UN Northern Derby European taste! This Saturday, April 16, 2022, the RC Lens (Pas-de-Calais) moved on the lawn of the LOSC as part of the 32nd day of Ligue 1. At the end of an intense match, the Sang et Or won two goals to one. Received three out of three!
Entry Mark Frankowski
The atmosphere was electric at the Pierre Mauroy stadium in Lille tonight and the derby kept all its promises! From the outset, Franck Haise’s proteges set the tone. On a corner badly pushed back by the Lille defense, frankowskialready scorer in the first leg, a recurrence of a good shot from the right (4th).
Perfect start to the match for the Sang et Or who almost made the break in the 20th minute, only Kalimuendo a lack of precision face to Leo Jardim. He even lost a face to face a few moments later (26th).
But the third is ultimately the right one for the PSG-trained striker. Well served by Pereira Da Costa, the young center-forward was able to shake the nets (37th). Incredible scene at Pierre Mauroy: “Blood and Gold go” then descended from the stands although the Lensois supporters were prohibited from moving.
For its part, the LOSC has also obtained enormous opportunities. First with Renato Sanchez in the 23rd minute who found Fariñez’s pot on a nice cross shot. Zhegrova, in the process, forced the Lensois goalkeeper to make a precious save (24th).
Lille ultra dominant in the second half
It was Xeka, who was in great difficulty this Saturday evening, who allowed Lille to believe in it again by placing a header just before half-time (45th). Fariñez couldn’t do anything. The second period is totally to the advantage of the Mastiffs. The red waves have more on the Lensoise cages for more than 30 minutes without the reed giving way.
Bamba was very close to equalizing but the Racing goalkeeper stretched out to save his team (53rd). Lille’s biggest ammunition was wasted by Zhegrova. The Kosovar, alone against Fariñez, opened his foot too much and the leather finished flush with the left post (66th). Phew!
Like warriors, the Sang et Or never gave up and imposed themselves on the rival! What a game !
