The unemployment rate in the canton of Zurich fell to 2.1 percent in March. Unemployment fell in almost all sectors, but particularly sharply in construction and hospitality.
At the end of March, 18,208 people were registered as unemployed with the regional employment centers (RAV) in the canton of Zurich. This was announced by the Office for Economics and Labor on Thursday. That was 1260 fewer than in the previous month. The unemployment rate fell from 2.3 to 2.1 percent.
The ongoing economic upswing and seasonal effects are likely to ensure that unemployment figures continue to fall in the coming months. According to the announcement, however, there is uncertainty due to the war in Ukraine.
