Prague as a cultural and safe destination where it lives. Václav Stárek on another campaign in support of tourism
With the arrival of Ukrainian citizens fleeing the war, they are looking for different ways to help. One of them needs a job for these people, and that’s what Prague hotels and restaurants are trying to do. “Together with the CzechInvest agency, the Chamber of Commerce and other employers’ associations, we have prepared a portal jobs4ua.cz, or labor market. Hoteliers and restaurant operators have given quite a few job offers. Professions are sought, from housekeeping through service, receptionists and qualified chefs. But I must say that a lot of highly qualified people are also coming to us from Ukraine now, “explains Václav Stárek.
How to attract tourists to the metropolis?
According to him, Prague will also feel the outflow of Russian tourists, but he hopes to restore tourism thanks to European and American visitors. Domestic tourists also have great potential, but the metropolis is not a place for them to look for a week-long vacation. “We are preparing another campaign for this June, which should be focused on the destination from which tourists come to us. I assume that we will transfer the autumn campaign, which was very successful, was called Stay in Prague. It was founded on the fact that Prague is a place not only of cultural monuments, but that Prague lives. It is aimed at people who want to come for experiences, they want to know something. It is definitely not aimed at those who would like to come on Saturday and Sunday to have a party in Prague’s pubs. “
