TOULOUSE

The Toulouse International Fair takes on the colors

Sugar Mizzy April 8, 2022

the essential
The 99th Toulouse International Fair opens this Saturday at the MEETT and for 10 days. It is the biggest economic event in the Occitanie region.

Some may remember it. Last year, the Toulouse International Fair took place, at the MEETT, in September with a number of exhibitors reduced by half due to the pandemic. This year, the Fair is back to normal as it takes place from April 9 to 18 with 400 exhibitors. The seven halls of MEETT, the new exhibition center located in Aussonne, will be occupied by stands dedicated to the home, leisure, gastronomy, shopping, well-being… And outside, visitors will find gardening departments, wooden houses, tools, saunas and even tractors on which children will be allowed to climb. Like last year, the Gande Roue will be there and the trips will be offered by Toulouse Métropole.

Free massage and haircut

For its 99th edition, the International Fair has decided to renew itself by welcoming the Innova’Toulouse space. This last group, over three days, a dozen Toulouse start-ups who will present their products for the first time. Among them, there is Ostalada “which supports individuals in creating tailor-made participatory habitats” or Nenufarm which “offers a vegetable garden aquarium”. The Green Village will take their place by offering products made from recycled materials. Opposite, we will find the flea market stand, which will even be enlarged. Charlène du Troc L’Union “reserves exclusive pieces for you, such as Scandinavian or 70s furniture”.
For those who wish to take a relaxing break, we invite them to come to the Well-Being & Beauty area where they will be offered foot reflexology sessions, Chinese medicine, kinesiology, massage, sophrology, reiki but also a haircut… (upon registration, from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day and until 8 p.m. on late-night openings).
Finally, no Fair without gastronomy, the great restaurants will be present on the gourmet terrace during the 10 days.

Don’t forget your jersey

Like last year, there is a 2,000 m2 space dedicated to sports at the Toulouse International Fair, under the aegis of the Occitanie regional Olympic sports committee. And for the first, it will be possible to do your baptism in scuba diving, freediving and single fin swimming, in a heated pool. The sessions are supervised by experienced federal instructors. So remember to take your swimsuit!

Toulouse International Fair, at the MEETT, from April 9 to 18, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., late opening until 10 p.m. on Tuesday April 12 and Friday April 15. Admission: €7 and €4.50. Tribe pass for 5 people. at €18. Access to free parking.

“The relationship of the Fair is good for people”

Interview with Olivier Cahuzac, trade fair director at Toulouse Evénements, GL events, which organizes the Toulouse International Fair.

Is this the second time that the Foire internationale de Toulouse has been held at the MEETT?
Yes, indeed, the 99th edition of the Foire internationale de Toulouse is the second to take place at the MEETT. The premiere took place in September last year, we had to postpone it because of the Covid.
She finds all her dimension?
Yes, clearly, it really is the big Toulouse Fair since all sectors are represented. And the number of exhibitors has doubled compared to 2021. They are more than 400. We are back to about the level of 2019, it is rather good especially knowing that many foreign artisans have still not been able to return to cause of the pandemic and we will miss it.
Have many exhibitors been arrested because of covid?
Yes, we have lost exhibitors due to covid and the fact that fairs could not be held. Some have changed jobs. However, we found others. We have largely renewed our panel of exhibitors.
Are the lounges really distributed?
Both on the side of visitors and exhibitors; nothing replaces face-to-face meetings. We come to the Fair to choose a craftsman, discuss with him, put him in competition, choose who is not easy to make on the web. This relationship is good for people.
How many people are you expecting over 10 days?
Between 50,000 and 100,000.
What will be the other big events at MEETT?
From September, we will start an important show cycle again with that of old vehicles, housing, real estate, chocolate…
