The US has banned 99 Russian planes from flying. Among them is the business jet of Roman Abramovich
The US Department of Commerce has published a list of 99 aircraft that have been flying in Russia and Belarus since March 2, thus violating the US Congress. The US government draws attention to the fact that any form of aircraft maintenance in any country in the world requires the passage of a bill.
In essence, this means that almost 100 aircraft from the list can no longer fly, a proposal in statement American department. The list includes aircraft associated with government agencies and enterprises that have flown in Russia in the past 16 days.
The department explains that they are being arrested, introduced due to Russian incursions into Ukraine, and concern all aircraft that make up at least 25% of the components of American units. These can be both aircraft manufactured in the USA and in third countries.
The list of planes occupied by prohibited flights also includes Roman Abramovich’s private business jet – owned by businessman Gulfstream G650.
Most of the “forbidden planes” were used by the Aeroflot company, which had previously canceled all flights to the US and Europe. Also on the list are different Boeing models from Nordwind, Utair, Azur Air.
“We drew attention to this list so that the world knows that we will not allow supervisory and Belarusian companies and oligarchs to move around with impunity in connection with the violation of our presence,” said Gina Raimondo, head of the US Department of Commerce.
“These aircraft cannot be serviced, but violate sanctions rules, which can be punished with severe penalties, fines, loss of export privileges, or significant restrictions,” the statement said.
