“It made my building vibrate”: an earthquake until Lyon this Saturday

The earth shook in Auvergne Rhône-Alpes this Saturday March 12, 2022! An earthquake of magnitude 4.3 on the Richter scale is produced at the end of the afternoon. Its epicenter is located in Plancherine (Savoie) and was felt as far as the metropolis of Lyon, a hundred kilometers away.
According to National Seismic Monitoring Network, the event was reported at 6:03 p.m. Many earthquakes occurred today near Albertville. The most powerful has reached 4.3 on the Richter scale and was relieved at 6:03 p.m. It could be several aftershocks.
There is no particular damage or casualties reported in the area after this event.
“It was pretty amazing. I’m on the 4th floor, it’s really surprising”
“We felt it in Lyon, it really made my building vibrate”, testifies a resident of the city on social networks. “In Villeurbanne too, it was quite incredible. I’m on the 4th floor, it’s really surprising, ”adds another on Twitter.
“You felt the earthquake around 6 p.m. [à Lyon] ? I thought I was crazy but I saw that things have moved well (…)”, testifies a surfer.
Many testimonies on Twitter also evoke this shock felt by the inhabitants of different districts of Lyon and its outskirts.
The last earthquake felt in the Lyon region was more powerful, with a magnitude of 5.4 and the epicenter was in the Drôme. It dates back to November 11, 2019.
