Toulouse: anti-vaccine passes still mobilized in the city center
A demonstration of the anti-vaccination pass takes place this Saturday, March 5 in Toulouse. The prefect had, yesterday, prohibited access to the hypercentre of Toulouse to any undeclared protest rally.
While the prefect of the Occitanie region, prefect of Haute-Garonne, has prohibited access to the hypercentre of Toulouse to any undeclared protest rally this Saturday, March 5, an anti-vaccine pass and anti-government policy demonstration is held on the boulevards.
In its press release, the prefecture had indicated that “during previous undeclared demonstrations, it was observed that barrier measures and social distancing were not respected, which is likely to promote the spread of the Covid-19 virus in case of high population density. She adds that “the absence of a declaration of demonstration does not make it possible to identify the organizers in capacity to control the number of participants, the respect of barrier measures and social distancing”. In recent months, the prefecture has also reported disturbances to public order during undeclared gatherings.
The prohibition order relates only to the territory of the city center delimited by the boulevards (the latter not being included therein). Thus, these events are not prohibited as such, provided that they do not enter the perimeter of the hypercentre of Toulouse and that barrier gestures are applied there.
