Russia spreads information about growing resistance in Ukraine
Russia has faced the fears expected in Moscow, including in the course of developments in Kyiv, and a significant part of the previously gained advantage is likely to be lost. This was announced on Friday in an interview with reporters by a senior official from the US Department of Defense.
“We see that the Ukrainians are putting up more resistance than Russia expected,” the source said in an interview with Reuters.
In this regard, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky posted a video message on Twitter on Friday evening, in which he was filmed along with some branches on the street to testify that the entire apparatus, headed by him, is in office and working, and not fleeing, as claimed some Russian sources.
“Good evening everyone. The leader of the faction is here, the head of the president’s office is here, Prime Minister Shmygal is here, [советник главы офиса президента] Podolyak is here. [Ваш] the president is here. We are all here. Our infected are here… We are all here. We defend our independence, our country. So it will continue. Glory to famous defenders, glory to famous defenders. Glory to Ukraine!”, – a short address by President Zelensky.
A source in the US administration, in an interview with the Voice of America, called for adherence to the disinformation campaign that Russia adheres to.
“We pay tribute to the Ukrainian people for showing strength and determination in response to the unprovoked fall of a much larger army. We have seen Ukrainian soldiers display incredible bravery on the first day of hostilities, shooting down Russian planes, shooting at tanks and measuring many of their positions during heavy attacks, the source said. – We assume that Russia intends to dissuade them and force them to surrender with the help of disinformation. Our news report that Russia has detected a disinformation environment has uncovered false reports about the discovery of the surrender of Ukrainian troops. Our information is also dangerous in that Russia threatens the dead members of Ukrainian soldiers’ families if they do not surrender.”
