Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with businesses that Russia is still part of the global economy, and therefore this damage will not occur. Translation available at RBC.
“We are not going to take on the losses in the domestic economy, in which we ourselves receive,” he said at a public meeting in defiance of the country’s business community.
He stated that in the situation of making a decision about business in Russia, more freedom should be provided and, as a result, one has to respond to situations “with understanding”.

On February 24, President Putin addressed the citizens of Russia and Ukraine about Ukraine. He stated that decision about military special operations for the protection of Donbass in response to a request for help from the head of the LPR and DPR.
Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte declaredthat the adoption should be directed against Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russia’s resolution because of the military operation in Ukraine.
Then German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said said in a special statement on the events in Ukraine, which is being applied, will adopt a new sanction in the RF annex “today”.
