Russian agricultural enterprises fully meet the needs of the domestic market in four products – meat, vegetable oil, fish and grain. The volumes of output of goods exceeded the goals of the Food Security Doctrine of the Russian Federation. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Victoria Abramchenko.
“2020 was the most significant year for the harvest of rapeseed, rice, greenhouse vegetables, as well as fruits and berries. The regions managed to harvest a record volume of oilseeds – more than 23 million tons.
Livestock and poultry production, according to the Ministry of Agriculture, last year amounted to 15.68 million tons, milk emissions increased to 32.3 million tons. “The pandemic of a new coronavirus infection did not prevent the increase in production both in crop production and in animal husbandry,” the Deputy Prime Minister said, noting the successful statistics in the field of import substitution.
The doctrine of food security in Russia stipulates that domestic agricultural enterprises must protect 95% of the internal security of the market in grains, 85% in vegetable oil, meat and meat products, 80% in fish products and 90% in milk. However, according to the results of last year, only 84% of milk was achieved, in connection with which the head of the Ministry of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev ordered to maintain a set of measures to support the industry.
