Over 30,000 without electricity in Sweden
The storm that is ravaging the Nordic countries and the United Kingdom has managed to stop trains, divert aircraft and make thousands without electricity.

The storm hit Sweden for full Saturday. Over 30,000 households are now without electricity in the country, writes Aftonbladet.
Trees and cranes have been blown down, planes have been diverted and bridges closed.
Storm Malik also hit Denmark with full force on Saturday afternoon. It is reported to win with hurricane strength of over 40 meters per second. The measurement was made in Hanstholm north of Jutland, reports the broadcaster DR. It must be Denmark’s most powerful storm in four years.
In North Jutland, the wind blew so hard that people about to stay for a Saturday night. This happened after several people reported roof tiles in the air and other objects going astray.
Railway traffic in Denmark has stopped in large parts of the country, and high water levels are reported in many places.
Planes and trains redirected
Two teenage boys were injured in Skåne when a tree fell over a vehicle they were in.
On the west coast of Sweden, several railway lines are closed. Flying from the Canary Islands had to be diverted to Stockholm due to strong winds in Gothenburg, while a plane on its way to Malmö had to land in Copenhagen instead.
Both the Øresund Bridge between Copenhagen and Malmö and the Great Belt Bridge between the Danish eyes of Zealand and Funen were closed on Saturday night due to the strong wind. It reopened Sunday morning.
The zoo in the Danish town of Randers states that they have locked in a jaguar and the park’s hyenas for fear that the storm could lead to enclosures being destroyed and the animals thus escaping.
Moves east
The low pressure gradually moves eastwards and is expected to reach the eastern parts of Sweden in the morning.
– It will blow properly with storm showers and also snow, says meteorologist Anders Wettergren.

In parts of Scotland, gusts of up to 38 meters per second were measured on Saturday, and both there and in the north of England, almost 100,000 households were without electricity on Saturday due to felled trees that have torn down power lines.
On the east coast of Scotland it is measured at almost 38.9 meters per second.
Over 130,000 households across the UK were without power on Saturday.
The northern part of Germany was also affected by the storm. Night to Sunday, storm surges were reported in coastal areas, and several train departures have been canceled or delayed.
