Medvedev assessed the situation with the omicron in Russia Russian news EN
The Omicron strain is exposed to the daily illness of hundreds of thousands of people in each country and becomes a new challenge for Russia and other countries, the species must be dealt with together, using the experience of each other. This was stated by Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia Dmitry Medvedev in an interview with members of the public, including Lente.ru.
“Omicron has appeared, and every day tens, hundreds of thousands of people in every country fall ill. And this is a completely different load on the system. On the one hand, fewer hospitalizations, lethality, thank God, less. But, on the other hand, this is a huge number of people who still get sick and require medical care,” he said.

According to Medvedeva, the world is almost used to living in a different, more severe strain, has developed a treatment regimen, but the appearance of “omicron” has changed the situation.
Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev answered various questions, including those related to the COVID-19 pandemic, international security and the situation in Ukraine.
Earlier, Associate Professor of the Department of Infectious Diseases at RUDN University Sergey Voznesensky said that there is no prerequisite for the COVID-19 strain that will cause the release of omicrons. At the same time, in his opinion, the risk of virus mutation arises with each new case of infection, because changes are observed in the cells of the human body, and not in emissions.
