NVB: The number of registered nominating organizations has increased to 34
Budapest – Another eight nominating organizations were registered for the April parliamentary elections at Monday’s meeting by the National Electoral Commission (NVB), bringing the number of registered nominating organizations to 34. Four years ago, the committee registered 101 parties, as well as all 13 national self-governments.
Nominating organizations intending to run in parliamentary elections must register; the organizations submit their applications to the NVB.
The NVB must decide on the registration of the nominating organization within four days of the notification, before which the National Electoral Office verifies the existence of the notified body and the authenticity of its data in the court register of the non-governmental organizations.
Previously, the NVB has registered 22 parties as well as four of the national ethnic self-governments.
At a Monday meeting of the panel, five more parties were registered, in the order in which applications were received: The Party with 75% Taxes; Party of the Greens; Free Hungarian Democratic Party; Greens, the Party of Normal People, and the Party of Normal Life.
The National Government of Slovenia, the National Government of Ukraine and the National Government of Serbia have also been registered.
The decisions are not final and can be reviewed by the Curia within three days.
In the parliamentary elections on April 3, the national party list will be set by the party that has nominated independent candidates in at least fourteen counties and at least 71 individual constituencies in the capital.
According to the Nationality List of the National Self-Government, this requires the General Assembly to decide on the establishment of the nationality list by 31 January, and it is also necessary to recommend at least one percent of the voters on the list as nationality voters.
The national lists must be announced to the National Electoral Commission by 4 pm on 26 February at the latest.
