They started from scratch and do not regret it. Four stories of IT graduates of Coding Bootcamp Prague courses – Roklen24.cz
Becoming an ajťák is a long-distance run. The IT field is for everyone who has a real interest in it. It is not about magical talent, but about diligence, motivation and a positive attitude.
“We monitor how many students, after successfully completing our program, can find work within six months of the end of the course. Our average of all those 14 completed runs is 91%, “ he says in an introduction Jana Večerková, founder of programming courses Coding Bootcamp Prague.
Story 1: Jan Jirsík, change is life
As a child, Jan Jirsík spent his free time with his uncle, who was involved in programming. At the time, he didn’t know that this would be his gateway to web development. Jan subsequently met the basics of programming as part of his studies at the Faculty of Transport at the Czech Technical University in Prague. After a year of living in Great Britain, he returned to the Czech Republic and applied for the position of air traffic controller at Air Navigation Services. Instead, he became a pseudo-pilot and maintained this job for almost 8 years. After a while, he began to think about change, and the passion of his young years seemed like a demonstrable idea. “Somehow I waited until I became a web member, and I saw Coding Bootcamp Prague as an ideal opportunity,” he says Jan Jirsík, current developer at Nano Energies. The program lasted from September to November, and before the end, Jan began to feel time pressure to look for work. The pressure in the family, which pushed him to take up a permanent position from January, does not help the pressure either. His only goal of getting a job resulted in the first offer he took without hesitation. He knew it was only a matter of time before he found a job that suited him – he knew he was getting offers with the wind behind him. Time bore fruit and Jan started working as a full-stack developer at Nano Energies. “When I started as a junior, I was 100% in the office and I would recommend it to any beginner because I give you a chance to learn better from colleagues.” presents a graduate of Coding Bootcamp Prague. Now he can organize his work according to himself and has more time for the family.
Story 2: Petr Stoklasa, being creative
Petr Stoklasa did not have a clear idea of his career. He worked abroad as a baker and storekeeper. She has always wanted to have space to work from home and in the office, while creating creative things. He understood that programming would allow him to do so, with only a laptop in hand. He also liked the great variety of job opportunities. There were only a few programming studio offers in the Czech Republic, and Coding Bootcamp Prague had nice reviews and a great value for money. “The bootcamp itself was fun. I was just stressed to find a job as soon as possible. I got a chance and took it, “ he says Petr Stoklasa, a graduate of Coding Bootcamp Prague and a current employee of Factorio Solutions.
Story 3: Tâm Lê considered education as a full-time job
Over time, the team decided to make a radical change as an assistant to the CEO. “I wanted to find a job where I would work with people, but at the same time I would have time to work on myself.” he says Tâm Lê graduate Coding Bootcamp Prague. She started looking for online programming courses herself and thanks to that she discovered this kind of bootcamp. I could meet people who have the same goals and experience it for themselves. From the beginning, she took the course very seriously and invested her time mainly in the studio. “It was very intense. By that I mean I had to absorb a lot of information in a very short time. Three months have flowed by me like water. ” I will reverse my experience from the course at Coding Bootcamp Prague. About a month after graduating, she found her first job in IT as a front-end developer. She has experience both with a company where she had the help of an experienced mentor, and as a backend programmer in a startup, where she had to rely primarily on herself.
Story 4: And how do employers see it? Peter Poulsen and Marek Stránský
Peter Poulsen is a Danish software engineer with more than 10 years of experience. He manages his company from Prague and wishes to expand his team. Bootcamp mentoring seems like a great opportunity to find an experienced student for future collaboration. Marek Stránský worked as a launching manager for the energy company and Coding Bootcamp Prague graduated in July 2021. Peter and Marek caught each other’s eye, began working together, and are currently involved in an application for the festival system at one of Peter’s companies. When Peter first heard about the bootcamp, he was a little skeptical, because the three months of the program didn’t seem like long enough, and programming was difficult.
However, he soon found out how the bootcamp model works. “It’s actually a very good concept. First you get people who really want to. In Denmark, where I come from, very often pupils drop out of school because their education does not want to invest too much, not only money but also time and energy…. But you have to invest in the bootcamp. And it’s very, very intense. You won’t get a senior professional, but you will get someone who has shown that he knows how willing to learn and you can handle the pressure you have been exposed to for three months. “ says Peter, Mark’s employer.
