Budapest – In addition to small town municipalities, parishes and school-maintaining tank district centers, non-governmental organizations operating in settlements with less than 5,000 inhabitants can also apply for the Hungarian village program from Monday, Alpár Gyopáros, the government commissioner responsible for the development of modern settlements, informed MTI.
According to the announcement issued by the Mini-Presidency, associations and foundations can influence the needs of the HUF 5 billion from the HUF 5 billion Rural Civil Fund this year as well: HUF 7 million for real estate investment and renovation support, HUF 7 million for car purchase support and maximum 2-2 million forints can be requested.
In his statement, Government Commissioner Alpár Gyopáros wrote that the non-governmental organizations operating in the villages carry out irreplaceable activities and are key players in everyday life, as they represent culture, sports, the preservation of traditions, or work for the safety, health and support of the villagers.
That is why the government decided in 2020 to support their operation in the Hungarian Village Program as well. Last year, almost five thousand winning civil tenders were made, and the amount of subsidies paid for them was HUF 15 billion, he noted.
He added that together with the Village Civil Fund, the Hungarian Village Program has opened 14 tenders and calls for proposals this year, all of which aim to improve the quality of life of people living in villages and raise the standard of public services available in small settlements.
Applications can be submitted through the National Political Information System until February 11. The call for tenders can be found in Bethlen Gábor Alapkezelő Zrt. website, on the government portal and on the website of the Hungarian Village Program.
